"I'd like to compare some DNA from one of the infected cats to that of a regular cat, if possible, but I'm guessing we don't have a sample."
This whole thing was very, very strange, but also very fascinating. Was it magic? Or maybe something from another planet or another dimension? Possibly even both, but she preferred the latter explanation because "alien science" is more interesting to her than "magic", and possibly easier to explain...

"I don't know if we have any cats here who aren't infected with the virus, but we might be able to pull something up from a database and compare it with a sample from an infected cat."

Medic flinches, takes a deep breath, and lifts his finger."...I'll... go find the cat."

"HEY! KEEP THE FUCKIN' CATS UNDER FUCKIN' CONTROL, WILL YA?" The loudmouthed kid says, bringing in another cat.
"That's the second one now - They must like you or somethin'." Moon says, upon seeing with, with Calli nodding in agreement.
"Just shut the hell up before I kill you." He said, in a clearly annoyed tone of voice. Moon made the :P at him, before going back to chatting with Calli about her recent 1 Million subscriber special.

Then she took out a cotton swab and began swabbing the cat's mouth.

Holly is ready to compare data as soon as the sample from the cat has been processed. She's also got a squirt bottle within reach in case Ruby gets bitten.

She looks down to notice the scratch of the cat's canines against her arm.

Holly immediately sprays some water on the bite spot. And on the cat, now that the sample's been collected.

The hair seems to disappear. Or at least go back to what was there before. Ruby lets out a breath she'd been holding. That's better.
Then she finishes the sample preparation and puts the cat sample into the sequencer.

Before Holly, Engi, or Ruby can do anything about Medic, someone bursts through the door and sees Medic as a cat. He sports an eyepatch and a black beanie, and is holding a bottle.
"...Medic, why the HELL are you a cat? Don't tell me I've just discovered yer fursona!"
