RE: Murderverse OOC - Guma - 02-10-2021

Reminder that Castle of Beasts now has 2 signup slots open! Get them while they're there. Or not.

RE: Murderverse OOC - Dookie - 02-10-2021

After BIA 2 ends, i'm going to work on Tropics of Terror. I've started a project to revitalize it into an actual Murdergame.

Would anyone be up for Co-Hosting?

RE: Murderverse OOC - wingedcatgirl - 02-10-2021

We could probably co-host that.

RE: Murderverse OOC - Dookie - 02-10-2021

I'm thinking the two Co-Hosts each control two characters, and like Pecan said, if the mafia wins, one of our characters dies.

If you guys are up for hosting, we could create some characters for it!

RE: Murderverse OOC - Kennifer - 02-10-2021

oooooh voting off the island oooooh

RE: Murderverse OOC - wingedcatgirl - 02-10-2021

I think I've mentioned it on the Discord, but if anyone happened to notice (definitely possible to notice but I think you'd need some familiarity with XIV lore) that Sylvi's original AGOM entry sheet says she's not the Warrior of Light, and then later plot developments make it clear that she totally is... yeah I just forgot I decided that, and by the time I remembered it it was easier to retcon it than fix it.

RE: Murderverse OOC - Dookie - 02-10-2021

Could someone please link the original doc for TOT so I can work on it?

RE: Murderverse OOC - wingedcatgirl - 02-10-2021

I'm not sure we have it. The Discord channel got deleted hastily and I don't know offhand where else we might have kept that information.

I believe I have a link to the original Tropics of Terror dialogue... https://docs.google.com/document/d/1003NsKScSWT4Kc4A8aNnj2URZOGFFdYGsNTssjU-OM4/edit?usp=drivesdk

THANK YOUUUUUUUUU

That was...part of I was looking for, at least. I was afraid we completely lost it forever for a second.

RE: Murderverse OOC - GoldenCityBird - 02-10-2021

I have a few concerns about Brothers in Arms being skewed in evil's favour. I'm going to list the reasons why I feel that way:

1: Clues aren't easy to find at all. The only deduction we managed to come to in this one was "the killer probably wears gloves", and I can't remember any from the ones before other than "the killer has big or small feet".

2: Because clues are mostly tied to Roll to Dodge mechanics, the only reliable way to get information is through investigative roles. There are three of these, and none of them have found any information in this round. Meanwhile, there are five players with no abilities, and only one that can take out the killer via non-voting methods.

3: The Accomplice and the Magic Man. At least one of these will show up in every round. Even if, by some miracle, they don't, their possible presence can make even the most solid of clues skeptical. This, again, makes investigating a pain.

I'm not sure if anyone else feels this way, though. I, for one, think that clues being a little less random - maybe cutting out the RTD mechanics, even just for some clues - could help. The first round was a good team victory, but it was only really done via bad luck on the killer's side. This current round has a drought of clues, and not a single evil player has died.

This is just my two cents. I probably don't speak for everyone, I just want my opinion out there.

RE: Murderverse OOC - wingedcatgirl - 02-10-2021

I'm sure I mentioned somewhere that BIA is a case study in why I have fumbles result in harm to the players and not harm to the evidence.

Another thing I say sometimes is that town needs to be a lot less shy about elimination.

So, I tried my best not to skew it in the good side's favor (Some murdergames in my opinion are skewed a little bit in the innocent's favor), but I see how you mean.

After looking back, I definetely should change a few things to make it less skewed. for one, make it so that if the killer dies, the rest don't immediately lose. Second, Make it so that 6 non-murderers need to be in game for the murderers to win. Third, replace the accomplice (A role that doesn't do much) with another role, possibly a ninja type role, maybe to replace the boss. Four, as the killer doesn't immediately lose the game for that team, the clues will be a little more obvious.

Also, is it ok if I say a personal pet peeve of mine when it comes to investigation?

RE: Murderverse OOC - Kennifer - 02-10-2021

.EXE 3 could also be such a case study.

Yeah, go ahead

RE: Murderverse OOC - Dookie - 02-10-2021

I'm kind of annoyed when 5 or so people go to investigate the same thing, basically ensuring that they get a good answer.

And sometimes I can tell, as there's a lack of creativity in the activities, like the first person saying, ">Go to the kitchen to find any evidence against X" to ">Investigate in kitchen"

it didn't last 😔

RE: Murderverse OOC - wingedcatgirl - 02-12-2021

Still wondering where to go with the time-loop plot in Murder-Free...

Gotta remember to get the Host back out before the next loop, too; don't want my characters always solving everything with their god powers...

RE: Murderverse OOC - madface7 - 02-12-2021

Ehhhhhhhhhhh... I say we just let it fizzle out. It kinda started to bore me.

RE: Murderverse OOC - wingedcatgirl - 02-12-2021

It does seem to not really be going anywhere interesting, I'll admit...

RE: Murderverse OOC - Kennifer - 02-12-2021

so Timefriend's just... not gonna loop it again and everything is back to normal?

Kennifer will be glad of this lmao

RE: Murderverse OOC - madface7 - 02-12-2021

Sorry, guys. At least I get a chance to mentally prepare for Valentine's Day. :P

RE: Murderverse OOC - Kennifer - 02-12-2021

Lol it's ok, at least poor Kennifer won't have to possibly die (or get fragmented) again and she can keep what's left of her sanity for a while longer.

It was fun though. At least, I thought it was. (It's one of my favorite tropes, so...)

RE: Murderverse OOC - Despair's Archon of Memes - 02-12-2021

Yeah... It'd also be great for being able to yeet our BIA 2 characters into Murderfree. And our Murder RPG characters, too... I guess.

RE: Murderverse OOC - madface7 - 02-12-2021

I feel like I'm ruining Timefriend's character by making him too childish. I have a rough idea of what I want him to develop into, and a guy who's constantly crying is not it. So cutting off this arc early was probably the best.
