RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - KungFuCutbug - 07-25-2021

"...n-no. all i can do with my body is throw it around and do this." [The skeleton swings a femur around like a club.] "i can't make someone's neck snap with it. mom always said magic was the work of the devil, anyway..."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - artsyGeek - 07-25-2021

“. .clearly she hadn't heard of clerics yet.”

“But. . Huh. Doesss anyone know if a sorta makeshift club can break a neck?”

The skeleton's head rotates, but there's no sign of anything else happening.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

"I mean probably, but there weren't any marks on Lloyd's body."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - TenOfSwords13 - 07-25-2021

There haven't been marks at any crime scenes. Perhpas the killers are cleaning up after themselves.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - KungFuCutbug - 07-25-2021

"see? no magic. no devils... where did you find the chips, anyway?"

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Caret - 07-25-2021

"Well... there goes that possibility." Nellie hands the skeleton back to the Soul. "We found the chips in the closet, where you reside. There's the chance that the chips are simply your skeleton decaying away naturally, but there's also the chance that somebody else was attempting to handle it."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

True enough.

...I'd like to search Malakiri's room again, and both them and Jean. We searched Jean's room, but maybe they have something else on them.

> Search Malakiri's room again for any sign of magic that could have killed Lloyd

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

Amy just... makes mental notes of the people who seem awfully quick to jump at each others' throats (metaphorically speaking), and finishes her coffee.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - TalesofUnder - 07-25-2021

My... awfully hasty to suspect people, aren't you?

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - MadameButterflyKnife - 07-25-2021

Jean, I don't believe it's hasty; you are one of the few known to have magic abilities. It's only fair that we make sure to cross our t's and dot our i's in this.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

...Says the person who's been accusing my husband the whole time. We found magical implements in your room. You could be hiding something else. I'm just trying to find more evidence. Okay? Evidence. I like evidence. I like following where it leads. I like trying to find it rather than giving up prematurely.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - TalesofUnder - 07-25-2021

!

How... how did you know?

(Jean removes their hairclip, revealing... okay, that hair is too long to be on anything but a girl.

I admit it. I am a witch... but I need a magic staff and a very specific colored gem to cast spells. And even then, I know not of any spells that could do... that.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Florien - 07-25-2021

She could be lying. She could have hidden the staff if she really needs it to do magic. She could have done magic and just said her magic can't kill people that way in a deceitful manner. After all, a very convenient roleclaim is "bulletproof". It means no questions would be raised when you never seem to die at night. After all, you're bulletproof! And you accused the poor innocent fruitvendor so quickly. Mysterious, right? I thought so. Perhaps this warrants a closer look.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Zanreo - 07-25-2021

"Yes... and in particular, I'm doubting that "bulletproof" claim earlier."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - TenOfSwords13 - 07-25-2021

I'm going to get something to eat, let me know if you come to a consensus.

Red then goes to the dining room to eat what is probably food. as a blatant excuse for me to get sleep

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Florien - 07-25-2021

Questions are raised, and unanswered. Alibis are lacking. JEAN! I ACCUSE YOU OF BEING A MURDERING MURDERER WHO MURDERS A LOT! WHAT HAVE YOU TO SAY IN YOUR DEFENSE, MORTAL?

Malakhiri doesn't vote yet, but apparently hopes this intimidation will spark a confession.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

Amy tries (and fails) not to laugh at the wording of Malakhiri's accusation.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - TalesofUnder - 07-25-2021

...Let me tell you something. I knew the spell “Goldor” from an early age. I decided to use it to turn a leaf into gold, and hopefully sell it to help out my destitute family. However... I accidentally turned my pet goat into a statue, as well. That goat was one of my only companions... ever since then, I have made a strict vow to never kill again.

Understood? Oh, and by the way, I'll allow you to search me, and see if you find a staff or any magic gems.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Florien - 07-25-2021

Killing creatures from a young age. Came from a miserable impoverished home. You couldn't tick the cult boxes harder if you tried. ALSO "SEARCH YOU?" WHY WOULD YOU HIDE YOUR WEAPON ON YOUR PERSON? YOU MIGHT HAVE VANISHED IT WITH MAGIC OR SOMETHING! OR THROWN IT INTO A PLACE WHERE WE WOULD STRUGGLE TO FIND IT!

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

Look, I'm not blood thirsty like... some others seem to be. I just want to be thorough, ok?

> Search Jean to see if you find anything that could have been used to kill Lloyd

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - TalesofUnder - 07-25-2021

Okay, I'll humor you. There is a spell to make anything the caster touches vanishes. However... there's an easy way to make it reappear. All you do is say the word “Amere!”

>Use “Amere” and see if this hypothetical staff appears anywhere

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Florien - 07-25-2021

HOW DO WE KNOW THAT THAT'S NOT A LIE?! YOU COULD JUST BE MAKING UP RULES AS YOU GO!

Malakhiri huffs disapprovingly.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

"Yeah, since we don't know the rules of however magic works when you come from, we're... kinda having to take you on your word here, much as it weirds me out to agree with somebody who's off their rocker."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

I'm weirded out by this entire thing... I know nothing about how any magic is supposed to work, just that it works differently than anything I'm used to.
