RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - TenOfSwords13 - 07-25-2021

My theory was that only 3 killers were meant to arrive, but one of them brought another with them, that being Chip with Ada.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

"Yeah, that was the music. I did think it was a weird song for a death priest to be listening to, I would have expected like… weird Latin chanting and pipe organs or something. Wanted to mention it yesterday but you'd all gone to bed already."

(aka night phase happened when I was asleep and I didn't have time)

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Cassie - 07-25-2021

I hope you oversleep the whole day again, Red.

A loud, massive slapping noise can be heard from outside the cabin.

Now that's just cruelty! What the fuck!

...You have got to be kidding me. This again? Lloyd 'jailed' us that first night, we couldn't do anything, that hair can't be from me. And Lotus got our fruit last night.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - TenOfSwords13 - 07-25-2021

That would be why I discarded the theory.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

...Good., Chip grumbles.

About that music, then. It's weird enough. But does it tell us anything?

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - artsyGeek - 07-25-2021

“It doesn't have to be your doing. You could've be a volunteer framee.”

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

...For crying out loud, Kondraki! Do you want us to send you a bunch of sour grapes tonight? Because we can.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - artsyGeek - 07-25-2021

“For fuck's sakes you can't even come up with a good threat! It's literally just sour grapes!”

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

...I was implying that we can prove to you that we're legit if needed, as well as your continuing interest in 'sour grapes' that you have demonstrated by going after us. But, whatever.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

"If they were able to send fruit to Lotus, that would clear them though, 'cause I don't think killers can send fruit. Unless Lotus is a killer and they're all in cahoots and covering for one another and there never WAS any fruit. But let's presume innocence for now. Especially if anybody gets fruit tonight."

Amy pauses a moment.

"The misspeak is weird though. They could've miscounted, maybe they meant to trap three but someone else was interested so there's four. Maybe they meant their three and also that weird cultist who is... technically a death cultist but maybe in a different cult. How many of these crazy death cults are there, anyway?"

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - artsyGeek - 07-25-2021

“. . .right, right. I still think you're petty.”

[He then looks at Amy, noticing her cult-related question.]

“At least two, probably. Most likely more.”

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

...If Malakhiri is a Death Cultist that isn't counted in the original number because they weren't one of the ones sent to kill us, that would clear him, wouldn't it? If that was the meaning.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

"Unless they decide to join this other death cult too, yeah. I'm just spitballing so I don't think it clears them of suspicion just yet but I mean... come on, they're ridiculously over the top and I'd expect the actual killers to be, well... subtle about it."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - artsyGeek - 07-25-2021

“. . .true, true.”

“. .though. . If, somehow, we are wrong and that sonuvabitch is part of this cult. . Why the fuck are they so open about it?”

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

Maybe because we wouldn't think they would be so blatant? Don't know.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

Amy shrugs.

"Maybe they're hoping that we'll be too distracted by the over-the-top personality and won't suspect them? Like, trying to be obvious on purpose so we think they're TOO obvious. Or maybe they're just like that."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

Exactly.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - artsyGeek - 07-25-2021

“Thanks to all their actions this whole. . Three days, if I recall, I'm inclined to believe the latter.”

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

"The thing is we can't completely rule out anybody, because there's multiple potential killers so even if the evidence clears someone one day doesn't mean they're not guilty another day. And people could be lying about their roles, for the ones who are just... going around saying stuff like that. People's stories lining up with each other helps a bit though. Like, Lloyd saying he jailed Chip and Ada the first night and that's why I didn't get any fruit, then when he turned up dead we know he wasn't lying about that and secretly in cahoots with them and using it as an excuse as to why I didn't get anything. I just... don't want to see more people die in order to narrow it down. What we should probably do now, at least what I think we should do now, is look at people's stories, listen to what they say they were doing and what roles they're claiming and yadda yadda yadda, and see if anything contradicts what anyone else is saying."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

Yeah, agreed. We should keep in mind what we've learned.

But maybe we should focus on Lloyd's murder for now. We searched Jean's room along with the others and there were magical implements but... nothing that looked like it could have murdered Lloyd the way it happened.

(07-25-2021, 04:40:53 AM)SomeLibre Wrote: >look for magic implements in the closet and the rooms

Hm...whilst there are magical implements in Jean's room, none of it looks like it could be used to manipulate the position of a living creature's body parts like Lloyd's neck.

So, either the person has a magic implement on them, in which case we need people to agree to be searched to narrow things down. Or it's been hidden somewhere else I didn't find in my initial search. Or it's someone that doesn't need implements.

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Caret - 07-25-2021

"You're right. Judging from... um... personal history... criminals often hide behind legitimate fronts to avoid getting caught, and this is no exception. While everyone's stories seem to line up right now, we should look for cracks in the narrative and then go off from that to find our cultists. By the way... way to go, Avatar of Life. Why won't you just tell us who the cultists are?"

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - Kennifer - 07-25-2021

"You can go ahead and search my room if you feel the need, by the way. I've got nothing to hide."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - psychedelicate - 07-25-2021

"Yes... you can search my room and my person, too..."

RE: Murder in the Mountains (Day 3) - PointMaid - 07-25-2021

You can search us and our room too if you need to. We're all adults and the fact that we're on our honeymoon isn't exactly a secret, and evidence of that is all you'll find. Right, Ada?

...If it will help catch whoever's trying to kill us, do it if you must. Yes. That's only logical.
