Lars speaks up first.
“So I was just chillin, you know? Suddenly, I hear a noise. It's a gunshot! I leave my gun, go investigate the gunshot, and when I come back, boom! My gun is gone!”
Markov adds another argument.
“I was looking out for danger, trying to find anyone dead, when I stumble upon some slime left by you all, and I trip, lose my gun, and think someone's after me. It's a reasonable argument! I didn't know who left it! So I made it to base, and slept.”

"Slime, huh? Okay, that lines up with some of the experimenting stuff I think. So... you slipped on the slime, somebody took the gun, made the gunshot Lars heard maybe? But why'd somebody take his gun then?"
Melissa ponders this and then turns back to Lars. "You know where the shot you heard came from? And did anybody hear a second shot later? Just trying to get the timeline straight."

And you, Jacks says looking at Markov, Just went to bed after you lost your gun and thought someone was after you?
Just... perfect. Did anyone but this first guy even hear a gunshot?

Okay. So other people did hear the gunshot. Leaving the gun when he got the call might just be an oversight. Not a great one, but, hey.
And... it's true that whoever lost the gun might not be the one who fired it.
Anybody have a vendetta against this guy? Reason someone would want them dead?
