RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - PointMaid - 09-16-2021

...Whew, I hope that helps, that's about the best I think I can do.

Yeah, the warehouses. We should search that. Terezi? ...That seems to be where Mathra was shot from.

> Head over to the Warehouse ...hopefully with Terezi and the warrant. Particularly the part adjacent to where Mathra was shot.

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Kennifer - 09-16-2021

>Search! That! Warehouse!

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Florien - 09-16-2021

[?]: There's a shell casing from the sniper rifle on the ground. The killer didn't bother to clean it up, it seems. Also, with some TRIGONOMOGEOMETRY OF DOOM, you notice that the bullet went into the wall at a shallow upwards angle, meaning the shooter shot from fairly low down.

Meanwhile, Terezi waves the warrant in the asleep guard's face.

UGH fine. Don't break anything.

Terezi is let into the Strickland supply warehouse as the guard moves their folding chair a few feet to one side, and looks around. [?] Nothing immediately jumps into view (or scent). There's cases on cases of individually wrapped plastic sporks, and it's kind of hard to not focus on that.

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - The Map Maker - 09-16-2021

"Oh yeah, I think I'm up to something."

>Investigate the source of the explosion more closely.

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Florien - 09-16-2021

[1] You look into the open manhole, bending over to see what's down there. You lose your balance and fall in, breaking your leg. You briefly consider the possibility this manhole might be the Catkin Lane Killer.

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - PointMaid - 09-16-2021

That angle...

> Low enough to be shot from a manhole? Is there a manhole over here where the shot might have come from?

...Sporks? Really? Sporks? ...Um, do you think we should search again?

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Florien - 09-16-2021

[10] It's certainly plausible the sniper shot could have been taken from a manhole... except there aren't any nearby, so you grab a heavy metal object and break up the sidewalk so as to dig a hole to replicate a manhole to see if that could have been the vantage point. It's at this point that you realize you didn't need to do that, because there was no manhole until you made a pit.

He's able to stand up for now.

He decides to sit on a bench for now, trying to wait out the pain.

"Woah! You ok there?" B-Sha yells down to Seven.

This... probably doesn't work great with trying to smell things but she's gonna try anyway. And swing her cane around a bit to try and test angles.

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Mr. Lee Hammer - 09-16-2021

Evil Jay Leno finally comes around to the warehouse and

> Investigate the bullet. Is it possible to tell what kind it is and the possible type of sniper rifle it was fired from?

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Florien - 09-16-2021

Seven tries to investigate the sewer where he fell. [7]: There's a blob of charred plastic stuck to the ground. It's not recognizable as anything, and no amount of investigating will change that, unfortunately.

French Terezi flails wildly in a trigonometric manner [8]: A short or crouching person is probably the best bet.

Check out the bullet. [6]: It's a bullet alright. Probably from an M40 sort of rifle, based on the size and the shell casing over on the other side of the street.

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Mr. Lee Hammer - 09-16-2021

> Go to the arms dealer and inquire about any M40 rifles and ask if there were any sold to anyone lately and if possible, ask who it was sold to

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - PointMaid - 09-16-2021

...I may be crazy. But there was a blob of melted plastic in the sewer. And it could be a coincidence, but I'm imagining, like, a bomb hidden in these bales of sporks...

> Borrow that warrant and do another search

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Florien - 09-16-2021

[4]: Evil Jay EVILLY goes to the arms dealer to ask questions. Don't be ridiculous, we're not giving up our customers to you, lawman. They might not be able to defend themselves from you.

Search the warehouse [7]: The guard doesn't even wake up as you walk past into the warehouse. Aside from a locked closet in the back with "emergency cleanup supplies" written on the door, there are zero bombs in the sporks or in any of the other miscellaneous cafeteria supplies, or anywhere else you can access. There are probably no bombs in the closet either.

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - PointMaid - 09-16-2021

...Well, I had to try, anyway. Um, should we assume those are actually emergency cleanup supplies? Should emergency cleanup supplies be locked?

> Remind the guard of the warrant and get him to unlock the closet with the supposed cleanup supplies

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Mr. Lee Hammer - 09-16-2021

> Join Runner 5 in the reminding of the guard for closet unlocking and cleanup supply investigation

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - The Map Maker - 09-16-2021

"I've been better!" Seven replied to B-Sha.

>Recollect all the evidence you have right now.

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Cassie - 09-16-2021

"What the funny biscotti's being going on, man!?"

> check the sewers near the construction site

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Kennifer - 09-16-2021

>help sniff out the cleaning supplies and hopefully not inhale any dangerous chemicals

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Florien - 09-16-2021

Bother the guard more. [4]: Waking up the guard simply annoys them. UGH. No. Look, your warrant says "warehouse". The janitor closet or whatever is not part of the warehouse, it's an addition onto the side.

That argument is legally dubious at best.

Bother the guard EVEN MORE. [5]: JUST SHUT UP! Okay? Fine, here's the key, I don't go back there anyway. I hope you choke on the paint thinner or whatever you're going to huff back there, sincerely.

The guard's brushes their hair back (it having fallen into their face while they were yelling) and goes back to sleep on the chair.

Think about everything you know. [8]: The sewers blew up last night, probably from this very manhole you're in. Wood man was crushed by a falling bathtub yesterday evening. The falling bathtub was impossible to plan, but the killing was deliberate. Mathra was shot with a sniper rifle, then shot post-mortem with the shotgun of the killer. There's a fused, charred lump of plastic stuck to the floor next to you. Your leg fracture is not compound, but that could change if you try to move it too much and don't treat it.

Check the manhole by the construction site... [1]: You fall in and break your leg.

This is just embarrassing.

Terezi grabs the key and rushes to the cleaning supply closet and... [2]: FUCK, you dropped the key down a drain.

> scream like a tortured violin, try to get out, and try to get some medical help

RE: Free Association: Part One. Day 3: "Explosive Revelations" - Florien - 09-16-2021

[5]: You search wildly for a magnet, eventually finding a fridge magnet thin enough to fit down the drain. With several minutes of effort, you manage to eventually get the key out of the drain.

[9]: You get out somehow without compounding your fracture. [7]: And you manage to make a functional splint and crutch, which you'll probably have to use for a while.
