We must not judge. Anyways-for the shoe comment. I poured the flower water from the vases all over the path outside of the hut. Water sticks onto sand, does it not? A wet shoe would likely have more sand than a dry shoe.

...Tape fetish? I'm pretty sure it was Desenari trying to give us all evidence if someone got killed in the night, since she was the one who went and found tape. Of which doors were opened in the night. Clever. A bit ironic her murder is one of those we're investigating.
But yeah, the water thing is clever too. Nice job. You're welcome to look at my feet to see if they're sandy if you want. In the meantime, I'm going to investigate that shed that somebody'd gone into...

You give Squid Girl the soapy water and towel. And not counting her tripping earlier, you do notice the paint looks like it was all knocked over the previous night. As in someone tried to head in there but had a nasty fall.
