RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Mr. Lee Hammer - 07-20-2023

The big deal for me is ever since I gave up sports management, I went into real estate. Developing homes and resorts for the wealthy people. People like us who can enjoy the finer things in life, not those unmotivated bootlickers who aren't willing to work for a dime. I mean those who came into wealth, those who work their cabooses off to swim in their pools of money. People who can afford the best of everything. Like me and some of you from what I'm gathering. And you know what's helped me? Good business skills. Something that can go a long way in this line of work.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - wingedcatgirl - 07-20-2023

Lucky preens at the mention of "working cabooses off". He seems to be of the impression that being a cat is hard work.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Kennifer - 07-21-2023

"I'm not sure whose cat this is, but that's actually pretty cute. I don't have any pets myself; I'm too busy managing workers to take care of one."

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - PointMaid - 07-21-2023

...It is pretty cute, yes.

Okay, right. That's all, then? So. I'll go with somebody who has plenty to lose, but probably not so connected to the old regime they'd rather go back to it. At least that's all I have to go on so far. So... to me, that sounds like Mr. Columbo. Plenty of money, which would be worthless if the country goes down the drain like it was beginning to before, and if we're successful and stabilize things should be alright, but made in his own way.

So, that's who I'll nominate. Mr. Columbo.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Mr. Lee Hammer - 07-21-2023

You're a wise woman, Ms. Frankenstein. It all comes down to the bottom line and I'm here to make sure nothing cuts through it. You watch, with me in charge, we'll get richer and we'll rule the community.

GWC puffs away at his cigar with quite the shit-eating grin.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Whistle - 07-21-2023

The cat could lead this country with an iron claw
And no one else seems to be above the truth
And that's why I nominate Victoria.
It's all meant for the youth

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Florien - 07-21-2023

The big screen clicks back on very suddenly. It's obvious Valdragon was watching the whole time... or maybe there's some detector looking for the words "nominate", that is also a possibility.

So. The Candidate for Liason is Captain George Washington Columbo of Saida Hills.

We have one vote for him, though obviously you could vote against your own candidate... if you really wanted. You'll need five more to raise him up, or six to reject him. Do as you will.

Candidate: Cpt. G. Columbo (SH), Nominated by Aide Cpt. V. Frankenstein. (NI)
Votes: 6 to determine. Vote Aye or Nay. You may begin voting.
Aye
  • Cpt. Frankenstein (NI)
Nay
  • Cpt. Mac Cumhaill (NW)
  • Cpt. Blixbo (VC)
  • Cpt. Beck (XC)

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - noodlesnook - 07-21-2023

I trust Captain Columbo will be able to lead us to success, but does he not take anything into account other than the wealth of these lands? A kingdom cannot be built on gold, not gold alone, at least.

Fionn's face is impassive as he gazes down on the others, but a spark is beginning to burn behind those pale eyes.

So Nay, I say! Nay!

An awkward pause.
He glances around the room, looking as if he just realised he did something terribly, terribly embarrassing.
…Was that alright?” he mumbles, his voice jarringly smaller than it was a moment ago.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - LavenderDream - 07-21-2023

Yes, Yes, that was just fine comrade. I must say, I lack trust in this fellow as well. And so, it is Nay that I say.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Whistle - 07-21-2023

Chef Beck begins to cough.
My voice is hoarse...
So I say Nay.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Oggy123 - 07-21-2023

"I dunno. Do you know any other possible choices?"

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Mr. Lee Hammer - 07-21-2023

Don't be fools. It's not just about the wealth of the land. It's money that can be used to put the best people in charge, to buy the best supplies, everything needed to run a community. I have an eye for talent and accept nothing but excellence for all the services I request. But if you want to throw away your chance at competence, I suppose that's your decision. A very ill-informed decision, I might add.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Oggy123 - 07-21-2023

"I have to say that we need someone who's also a good leader. I like wealth as much as you do, but we need someone who could put them to good use."

"Like Nintendo, for example! Or me."

"Really?"

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - noodlesnook - 07-21-2023

Nintendo?

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Mr. Lee Hammer - 07-21-2023

Did I not say I was going to put the money to good use and hire the best people and buy the best of everything? Besides, what do YOU have to offer?

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Oggy123 - 07-21-2023

"He's one of our fellow Console Kings. He rules another nation like we do!"

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Florien - 07-21-2023

You rule your nations in the name of the Alliance and the soon-to-be Valdragon Government thereof, I hope.

The Colonel's tone is low and dangerous as he speaks to Sony and Microsoft.

Oh, and remember... you do have to vote for yourself, if you are the nominee. You may have forgotten. I'm going to mark you down as voting for yourself, but for future reference, you will have to declare your support for your own candidacy.

Lucky rolls around on the table.

... is this approval of the nomination? Let's assert that this is approval.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - TenOfSwords13 - 07-21-2023

i don't have any heckin' objections here! mostly 'cause there's nothing real to object to :p

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Oggy123 - 07-21-2023

"Well, let's see if he could manage it. Columbo it is, for now."

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - PointMaid - 07-21-2023

Thank you. And yes, I would be interested if those objecting had a real reason or other alternative. Again, I don't have much to go on at this point, but I am at least trying my best to make a good nomination.

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Kennifer - 07-21-2023

"May as well, as I've no better ideas. Aye."

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - Kennifer - 07-21-2023

RE: Party To Treason 2: Valdragon's Coup - PointMaid - 07-21-2023

...

Done, but, just for the record, I'm now questioning *your* loyalty to this cause. They were all Loyalist operations. All three of them. I thought I should get that out in the open before anyone gets any ideas. Believe me or not, all of you, truly.
