Yeah... I was thinking he could have been that way in the past, but now he's just kind of gone so far off the deep end he won't ever return. Like, he's so determined to return to the normal of being the star that he will hurt anyone who doesn't follow his rules. Including having his own sister's hand shattered.

Not gonna lie, I have something of a fondness for absolutely despicable villains, as long as the heroes who oppose them are sufficiently likeable, that is.

Admittedly, Autumn does almost descend into her own mad state, nearly getting as bad as him, but she does snap out of it, and it doesn't get anywhere near like him.

That's good - it highlights Autumn's flaws and her inner conflict, but also her own admirable qualities.
A hero doesn't have to be perfect to be likeable or sympathetic.

Just don't want her to get unsympathetic or even unlikeable. I still think it might be interesting if her jealousy is so compounded by Floyd and Syd that she almost murders the hypotenuse in the love triangle... but then I think that would just kind of lose her sympathy, but then again I am kind of writing her as somewhat mentally ill.

I do think that would make her much more unsympathetic. While a hero can be tempted by evil, they can't totally succumb to it, or otherwise approach the Moral Event Horizon. (In my opinion, anyway - a lot of writers prioritize interesting characters over sympathetic characters, but I think it's just as important to avoid Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy.)

Agreed... the other option would be that she offers herself, but I don't want her to be such a death seeker. So maybe she chooses Jake out of hesitation, or is trying to get revenge because he left her for dead after the boat wreck.
