An enormous timebomb has been installed in the middle of the arena. Although the explosion is capable of obliterating anything within the arena, the Gamemakers have arranged flights to a new arena to allow tributes to survive... if they manage to board!
Jack Kilborn gets to his gate just before it closes, managing to get on board.
The tributes are trapped in a besieged castle.
Jack Kilborn escapes the castle through a secret passage.
The remaining tributes all walk through some magical doors so that they can be gifted some magical abilities.
Jack Kilborn somehow receives no gift whatsoever.
The remaining tributes...

Avril doesn't even flinch at Jack being revealed as innocent. It's weirdly composed about the situation, actually, considering the state it's tended to be in. Its tone is even and relatively steady.
What... you expect me to act all shocked and horrified? No. Good riddance. We were given nothing to work with, and our captors probably are just going to execute us all at the end anyway. This was a perfectly acceptable outcome. We're better without him anyway. We're imprisoned and going to get killed by jesters. What a joke.
