"..."

"...need help with that? Looks like you've never dug a hole before. Nothing wrong with that, but there's nothing wrong with getting help either. Especially from someone with... plenty of... experience. In that sort of thing."
[Sherry's tone becomes noticeably more melancholy and nervous starting from "plenty".]

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - MadameButterflyKnife - 11-05-2021

Trust me! I've got this shit down, alright?! I don't need your sympathies.

Voi is currently digging with the handle of the shovel.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - Cassie - 11-05-2021

Russell resorts to rope, as there's no hammer to be found in storage. But for some reason there are some nails.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - KungFuCutbug - 11-05-2021

"...Don't need to be so sour at me, dude! Can I at least show you how to do it properly? Jesucristo."

> find a shovel and help Voi dig anyway despite her protests

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - Cassie - 11-05-2021

Sherry proceeds to get another shovel out of storage and assists Voi in digging, whilst Heeko tries to grab a spot of juice in the kitchen to calm himself down from what frustrated him.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - awe921 - 11-05-2021

... Dangit. Russell exits the cabin and sees Voi and Sherry.
Russell waves at them, sits somewhat close to them (but not too close so he wont be associated with them) and tries to make a cross out of two planks and rope. He made a grave before, but he had that zookeeper help him...
... That zookeeper sure made things look easier than it actually is. Russell is struggling. Somehow he made a L. He undoes the rope. Now it's a T. He sighs, and keeps trying.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - MadameButterflyKnife - 11-05-2021

I know what I'm doing! Look, I can do it, okay maybe I can't but I'll figure it out-and you're helping anyway. Fuck.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - KungFuCutbug - 11-05-2021

"Just let me help you figure it out, for fuck's sake. You hold the shovel like that, see? This part's the handle, for grabbing. It's got a hole in it so all the sand—ah, snow in this case, falls right through it if you try to use it. And that's the head, all big and flat and kinda scoop-looking." [Sherry briefly waves back to Russell while she's giving the explanation about how to use a shovel to Voi.]

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - MadameButterflyKnife - 11-05-2021

...Oh. I knew that. Yeah.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - awe921 - 11-05-2021

... Russell finishes the grave. It's... much harder than he expected, that's for sure. And it's just a simple cross thing.
He walks over to the two more closely and puts the grave down.
"... The grave."
"I'll... go grab the body. You two keep doing your thing..." Russell then heads back to where Nikei's corpse is (presumably in the cabin?).

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - awe921 - 11-05-2021

... wow, uh. 14 year old struggling to move a corpse. What a surprising turn of events.
Russell huffs. Maybe he's just not doing it right. Maybe he should drag Nikei's corpse around instead of trying to pick it up.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - KungFuCutbug - 11-05-2021

"If you did, you weren't showing it. Were you trying to get me to help you?" [Sherry teasingly jabs Voi with her elbow, sticking her tongue out—she would wink too if she had more than one eye to spare.] "Didn't know androides were capable of being... ¿cuál es la palabra que estoy buscando?...
soon-dare-aye(Tsundere. She's trying to say tsundere.)
."

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - MadameButterflyKnife - 11-05-2021

I could have figured it out, okay! But...thanks, I guess. Would've figured it out eventually.

There is the slight hint of a smile, before she begins to dig. Properly, this time.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - awe921 - 11-05-2021

OKAY, GOD, THIS CORPSE'S WAY HEAVIER THAN IT LOOKS.
Russell is kind of glad that he turned himself in to the police after he killed... if moving just one corpse was painful enough...
Either way, with a lot of grunting, dragging and pain, Russell comes over to the two with Nikei's corpse.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - Oggy123 - 11-05-2021

Nintendo watches the events from nearby, seemingly interested.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - KungFuCutbug - 11-05-2021

[Sherry grins right back (and much more obviously) before continuing to help Voi dig the hole. Hey, she's got the shovel, she might as well, right?]

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - awe921 - 11-05-2021

Russell groans and sits down. Corpse carrying is tiring work...

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - MadameButterflyKnife - 11-05-2021

You know, most people don't bother to help after that shit. I get it, busy with their own lives and all, you really got to look out for your own skin, but still. Not really something most of you people do, you know?

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - awe921 - 11-05-2021

"... i suppose so. I... also wonder if this is... a good thing to do. The pictures... never really told me if burying people was good or not."
"... if you guys are helping me do this, then... maybe it is a good thing afterall. People... want to help other people do good stuff. That's what I got told at school..."

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - KungFuCutbug - 11-05-2021

"It is a good thing, aye! Where I'm from, anyway. In Punta Ceniza, companionship is key—I keep saying it, but it's true. And that means whenever someone ends up biting it which is a lot because of the bandidos justicieros running around? Everybody pitches in to give them one last gesture of respect! Seeing and hearing that neither of you have done that before is kinda... well, chalk it up to choque cultural, I guess. Different places, different timelines, different places in the timelines... blah blah. You get the point."

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - awe921 - 11-05-2021

Russell looks at the grave besides the shoveled hole. He figures now would be a good time to set the grave.
... so he does it. Like stabbing the ground, Russell firmly (or well, tries to after he tired himself out carrying Nikei) plants the grave.

For a kid who's exhausted, he sure did a good job at placing the grave. Then again, graves are just two handle knives, really. Atleast, the cross ones are.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - Oggy123 - 11-05-2021

Nintendo then approaches them.

"Alright. It's a good thing where i come from either! Me and my friends back home always help each other make games!"

.> Try finding a shovel, and help Voi dig the hole.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - Caret - 11-05-2021

Bow watches the burial from afar, and starts to think to herself. Heh, it's nice that they're taking the time to honor the dead. Should I join in?... On one hand, I don't want to be reminded of how they died, but on the other hand... I need to be strong. Moping around is going to fix anything. I should put my grievances to rest myself. Yeah... that sounds good. She nods to herself. and pounces over to were Russell and the time travelers.

"Do you need a helping hand with setting up the graves?"

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - awe921 - 11-05-2021

"... hmmm." Russell checks the hole that Voi is digging, and then at Nikei's corpse. He glances at the hat.

RE: The Aurora Project - Day 2: Death of a Disaster - MadameButterflyKnife - 11-05-2021

Corporations basically own your souls, honestly. There's little things that bind in Helium City. Specks of hope, like glowing lights with loud music, and those wildflowers that somehow grow 50 stories up on the decks. But the fucking corps always come first, unfortunately. You gotta do what they say if you wanna get paid enough to live...unless you find someone with enough balls to punch a hole for themselves by force.
