RE: Your Final Frontier - Mr. Lee Hammer - 02-17-2021

Why are you gloves wet, Mettaton? Sure have noticed you've been awfully quiet ever since evidence started pointing at you.

RE: Your Final Frontier - Kafkaesque - 02-17-2021

You also hear laughter from the resident hellhound. At the same time, though, having found nothing on 2E, Loona is now giving Sam-I-Am a dirty look.

RE: Your Final Frontier - Zanreo - 02-17-2021

"Gloves... wet, you say?"

>examine Mettaton's gloves

RE: Your Final Frontier - wingedcatgirl - 02-17-2021

Mark holds up his gloveless hands, somehow shrugging at the same time. "I mean, I've got gloves, I'm just not wearing 'em right now. Don't most people have gloves for winter?"

RE: Your Final Frontier - Zanreo - 02-17-2021

"Yes... these do look suspiciously wet. And with... what exactly? Any explanation?"

RE: Your Final Frontier - Zanreo - 02-17-2021

(to Mettaton)

RE: Your Final Frontier - Mr. Lee Hammer - 02-17-2021

> search for anything that could have been used to dry hands

RE: Your Final Frontier - Dookie - 02-17-2021

“Well...ok, I'm sorry. I didn't kill her, I just wear gloves. It's the socially accepted norm in Who-ville.”

RE: Your Final Frontier - PointMaid - 02-17-2021

I'm definitely looking at metatton now. Wet gloves? Yeah.

> Try to determine if the gloves are wet with water or syrup

RE: Your Final Frontier - Mr. Lee Hammer - 02-17-2021

Don't worry, Sam. We don't suspect you at all. And looks like no towels were used, or hand dryers for that matter.

RE: Your Final Frontier - PointMaid - 02-17-2021

Hmmm... metatton's gloves are wet with water. But they could have washed out the syrup leaving the gloves still wet, so still suspicious.

RE: Your Final Frontier - wingedcatgirl - 02-17-2021

"I think we can safely assume the killer definitely washed their hands, because they'd have to be a complete scatterbrain not to," Mark points out. "But anyone who cares about hygiene probably washes their hands a few times a day, so that doesn't really help narrow it down."

RE: Your Final Frontier - Mr. Lee Hammer - 02-17-2021

> search for any tracks left by Mettaton

RE: Your Final Frontier - PointMaid - 02-17-2021

Does... whatever metatton is... have to worry about hygiene like the rest of us? Honest question.

RE: Your Final Frontier - Mr. Lee Hammer - 02-17-2021

I did notice Mettaton leaves a unicycle track as he moves around, even recently left one as he went down the side-road of a mountain. I wonder...

> Check for Mettaton tracks between Holly's bunk and the bonfire where she was found dead

RE: Your Final Frontier - Mr. Lee Hammer - 02-17-2021

Couldn't find anything, no tracks. All we got to go off of us the gloves are wet.

RE: Your Final Frontier - Kafkaesque - 02-17-2021

"You'd think the gloves would have dried off by now, though..."

RE: Your Final Frontier - PointMaid - 02-17-2021

You sure you were thorough? They could've brushed them away, though.

> Check for metatton tracks between Holly's bunker and the bonfire (again)

RE: Your Final Frontier - Mr. Lee Hammer - 02-17-2021

The path to the beach is made of asphalt, so there weren't any tracks and all the sand doesn't seem to hold anything together. Plus the area around the fire was all washed away, so...

RE: Your Final Frontier - PointMaid - 02-17-2021

Yeah, I didn't find tracks either. Sorry for doubting you. Looks like they threw water on the area of the beach where the tracks were.

RE: Your Final Frontier - Mr. Lee Hammer - 02-17-2021

That's all right. It pays to be thorough. There's got to be something else though. That one car battery though with the cables. All I know is it says "Defective. Do not use." I can look at that. Anyone here got any ideas?

> Examine the battery

RE: Your Final Frontier - PointMaid - 02-17-2021

...I was going my mind's eye about what I've seen of Metatton. We... I think we ended up in the same bunk last night. And no, I don't know where he was all night, I was probably fast asleep. But his hands weren't wet last night, and they weren't wet earlier. Just, when he got back from the mountain, like, an hour ago? What was he doing?

RE: Your Final Frontier - PointMaid - 02-17-2021

*Going over in my mind's eye

RE: Your Final Frontier - Mr. Lee Hammer - 02-17-2021

You have the brilliant idea to test it by touching both terminals at the same time. Thankfully, it's already completely discharged, so nothing bad comes of that. There's some blood spatter upon it, presumably from when Holly got stabbed, and there are messy handprints on it of that oily syrup and grime from its time spent in the bushes. It's clear it got picked up and used, but as expected, the handprints are from someone wearing gloves, so they're fairly smooth and featureless.

Gary decides to test the battery by touching both terminals at the same time. Though, since it's already discharged, nothing comes of it. He examines the battery further.

I see all that gunk from the bushes, but look at all this. There's blood on it. And look, handprints, from that syrup. And look how smooth it looks. It's definitely from someone wearing gloves.

> compare Metatton's hands to the syrupy handprints

(Didn't mean to leave that first paragraph there, just had it up as a reminder)
