RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Mr. Lee Hammer - 05-03-2023

OK, fine, you voted for me because I'm mean and nasty and all that. And I'll admit, I do get a kick out of seeing murder. Where I come from, it's a business. Does it mean I'm here murdering you right now though? Not necessary. And look at it this way. I could have used my vote on you when you chose to go after me first like Autumn did. I didn't though because I was willing to hear some other peoples' sides of the story. And I'm pretty satisfied with hearing yours. I believe you. So you don't like me. Fine. In fact, I've made a lot of enemies throughout me career. My point is though I'm at least willing to work with you in solving these murders. I heard you out and accepted your story. You can at least give me the same courtesy.

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - awe921 - 05-03-2023

Khom isn't sure if the Blatant Dragon Racism at display here is more grief-inducing to him than the LITERAL MURDER GAME THEY'RE IN.

He first looks to Jack.

"... well, you're not revealing what powers you got, that's for sure."

... then back to Avril.

"but- and this is a *BIG* but, isn't being "bound" to someone else just... that? proof that you're bound to someone else, not that you're necessarily not aligned with the Rogues of Chaos or whatever Ruffle Carps over there said."

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Florien - 05-03-2023

Avril, who has been in many courtrooms, tries very hard to sound responsible and reasonable and not like it's freaking the fuck out about the whole situation rather justifiably.

Well, I can claim I'm on one side or the other, but there's no way to verify that. I can verify that I'm bound to another. I can only make the following argument.

There are three... peop... well, I won't call them people, they may be groups, or they may have something else going on that qualifies them technically as more than one people. There are three units out for our blood. Would it really make sense for two of them to be linked utterly? It would make it far too easy for those not out for blood to catch them. One slip up, and two of them get... well... pierced. alsoimnotamurdereridon'tdomurderorstartfires

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Mr. Lee Hammer - 05-03-2023

So what, Khom? I'm not expecting anyone who doesn't wish to reveal their roles if they don't wish to. You might put yourself in danger, especially if you have something poweful. But while you do have a point in how we don't know Avril's alignment, I will at least agree with what it says so far. Now assuming Avril, Kirby and Ribbon are killers. It'd be pretty reckless to put Kirby and Ribbon on the line like that. It's three of them against everyone else. Yes, we have to count Kirby and Ribbon as one because the schemantics are screwy like that. But it would be really reckless to immediately put your partner at risk like that. Because after one goes down, the other is sure to go next. Then there'll be one more with their backs against the wall. They would all be at a huge disadvantage. And I'm pretty sure Avril is a lot more smarter than that. And that's my assumption on while they're all innocent for the time being.

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - NebulaChimera2211 - 05-03-2023

Leonie seems to be frozen by the anarchy her suggestion apparently brought about. What the hell is going on? What have I done? she thinks. The sudden guilt stinging her delays her reaction to being soaked.
Oi! (beat) It wasn't me...

She snaps out of it when Avril mentions its apparent bond with Kirby and Ribbon (who then backed Avril up), sitting up straight in surprise. She thinks for a moment, then says whilst drying herself:
That mean much? Could be something to throw us off the scent with carefully chosen wording... How does that mean you march under our banner, or even the same banner?

When Bronwyn mentions silently conducting an investigation at their own pace:
What have you found out, then? There a reason you didn't say anything sooner?

To tell the truth…” they say, “My results have come up just as inconclusive as yours. Now that I think about it, perhaps my principle of ‘taking time and being thorough’ might not have been very smart.

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - PointMaid - 05-03-2023

Candy has been watching the whole thing.

Taking your time and being thorough is not a bad thing. Rarely pays to be overly hasty. Although getting something in before you can be counterattacked... well, that I've definitely seen plenty of. Remind me to tell you about season... never mind.

Just say what you've tried and what you've been working on, hmm.

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Oggy123 - 05-03-2023

Kirby now looks at Bronwyn.

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Kennifer - 05-03-2023

"Avril just volunteering who it is linked with would be pretty stupid if they were all killers though, right? Just let us take out that many of them at once? That could be a lie but Kirby and Ribbon seemed pretty quick to back it up. So I'll let that stand for now, and even if it is a lie or cover story it'd probably be found out later anyway right? Unless linked parties can be on different teams and then well... I don't know."

"...and no, I don't know who it could be. My brain's been a bit foggy since I got here though, but I'm trying."

Lithium sighs.

"I'm wondering if we aren't finding out more through talking like this than we did in the investigation."

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Mr. Lee Hammer - 05-03-2023

Bronwyn, I'm willing to listen to the details of your own investigation if the slow approach is what you chose to go for. Again, I will state that there are a couple other people who haven't really joined in like they should, but it could simply be a sign of laziness; nothing really incriminating. But what bothers me about you, Bronwyn, is why you chose to bandwagon on me in your voting. Avril choosing to vote me off because I'm mean and "enthusiastic" about these murdergames is a bit silly, I think, and voting for me based on bias can be dangerous. But I trust it's on the level as Kirby & Ribbon did back up those claims. You, however, don't have that same benefit; you just blindly jumped on the voting without questioning why. Experience shows doing that usually means people aren't on the level. So I can't help but ask if you have anything more on me besides "being mean" or "too into these games".

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - PointMaid - 05-03-2023

Candy nods.

I have to agree... again. ...I'll be the first to admit that Jack isn't above trying to kill somebody. Heck, me. And me him. If you must know. Still, that doesn't mean either of us killed the sheepgirl. If you have something on him though, well. I'm not above voting for him to get axed in that case, either.

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Zanreo - 05-03-2023

"Hm, yeah... while his attitude isn't helping, I've seen no direct evidence pointing to Jack." Fourto says. "But hey, if anyone has anything at all, please tell! We're kinda lacking in evidence towards who did it, as you can probably tell."

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Despair's Archon of Memes - 05-03-2023

Kizuna sweats a bit...

Sorry for not speaking my mind as if late... I just... Haven't had much to say lately? ... Ehe...

... She's really feeling the stress of the situation...

... Nothing on my end.

Bronwyn: Jack

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - PointMaid - 05-04-2023

...Or else?

Is there gonna be some kinda deadly arena event?

She looks as if she almost relishes the idea

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Mr. Lee Hammer - 05-04-2023

IAn Arena Event is certainly enticing. The survival of the fittest. Using your wits to escape with your life. That'd get your adrenaline moving. Though it does beg the question... do you have a voting deadline set? I'd think that would be very good information to know. Thank you very much, good hosts. You're all doing marvelous work.

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - PointMaid - 05-04-2023

Agreed.

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Oggy123 - 05-04-2023

"We haven't found any evidences! Unless i missed something."

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - wingedcatgirl - 05-04-2023

"You gotta vote anyway! It's social deduction, kiddos, not a puzzle!"

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Florien - 05-04-2023

Like I said, there is no evidence. There will never BE evidence. Investigating is a waste of time. It's a guessing game, it will always be. There's barely a point to being in a circus tent, other than that it gives us no privacy and will gradually erode whatever's left of our capacity to function. So, given no information to work off of and a requirement to kill someone, we should kill the person who's the worst. Jack. He's the WORST.

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Oggy123 - 05-04-2023

"Jack is creepy, i know. But we'd like to hear what the others think first, perhaps?"

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Florien - 05-04-2023

What could they possibly say?! There's NOTHING! We've been given NOTHING! We're going to get NOTHING!

At this point, there is NO. POSSIBLE. ARGUMENT! ...that could be made to get me to take my votes off of Jack short of someone else loudly confessing that they are in fact plotting to kill me. No one is going to do that. We need to resolve this, and I can't think of a better way than to eliminate one of the PEOPLE! WHO! KEEPS! THINKING! ICANORWILLSTARTFIRES!!!

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Mr. Lee Hammer - 05-04-2023

You know something, Avril? I find it very interesting how you're persistent in pushing for my death. And why? Because how I say "you start fires" or whatever? Which for the record, I had thought was pretty cool. Who wouldn't want a creature at their side that can toss those flames like there's no tomorrow. But even if you weren't, it still seems weird how you're so eager to want me dead. Especially since I was at least willing to accept your story for the time being. I could just vote one person off because I don't like them too, you know. Think what you want about me, but I'm at least trying to use deduction. While you're just looking to kill me just because you despise me. Or is there more to it than that?

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Florien - 05-04-2023

Because I despise you. Entirely because I don't... Because I despise you. I HAVE NEVER PRETENDED OTHERWISE!

Avril's voice cracks a little on the "otherwise" and "never".

There is no deduction to be done! You... you treat it like that... aaaaahhhhhhh... you... I... So you...

It pauses for a moment to try to come up with a sequence of words that works. It's an uncomfortably long pause.
You treat it like you can avoid it being an insult when you say "it is a good thing that you start fires." when I DON'T START FIRES! How would you like it if I came to you and said "It is a good thing that you are extremely stupid and smell like you swam in sewage!" You wouldn't take that as a compliment, and it would be untrue in the first place! There is no deduction to be done, no information to be obtained yet! SMALL ONES! GROW SOME PESSIMISM! You'll look at what has... what we've been told and know that what I say is true!

RE: The Carousel of Chaos (role madness murdergame) - Mr. Lee Hammer - 05-04-2023

Okay, fine, you don't start fires. Are you happy? Look, if you really want to harbor your little grudge against me and kill me off, tell you what. If we both make it out alive together, I'll challenge you to compete in the Hunger Games together. It'd be you and I, plus a whole bunch of other people. The ultimate in survival of the fittest. Where only one will walk out alive. If you really want to destroy me so badly, you can do so there. You can eat me, slash me to pieces, stomp me to death, whatever. Don't think I won't try to defend myself though. But if you really want me dead, you can use that energy for that, sound good?

Until we're all done here, however, let's take things a bit more seriously, hmm? I have at least tried to present one possibility. Maybe the others have their opinions. While you seem a bit too eager to shut down communication there because of your petty grudge against me. You know what? I'm tired of this. If you want to keep your vote on me, fine. If it makes you feel better. I still would like to hear what others have to say, particularly Bronwyn. But if you think it's a waste of time to hear other peoples' thoughts, well, then I guess that's your problem.
