RE: Mysteries of the Floating Islands - GoldenCityBird - 09-30-2022 @SmilyCube112: You roll a 2. If someone did come by and see you, you sure didn't see them - you were too distracted by some random noise. @Florien: You roll a 4. Sorting through the desk would take a normal person a fair few minutes - both opening everything and sorting through the chaff. You manage to get through the desk rather quickly, and find a few important things: * A few references to a "Withdrawals Ledger" that is allegedly on the desk. It is not visible on the desk. * A rather concise map of the accounting floor. * One little note upon the corner of the desk: "bring lunch II translator office IV Putto." RE: Mysteries of the Floating Islands - Florien - 09-30-2022 The hell? I... what? What are these... oh, that's adorable. They're using a pure addition-based number system. Perfect for embezzling from, no one's going to count all your symbols to make sure you did them right. What even does Putto translate? Everyone here speaks... whatever language this is. Anyway. Next stop. Avanyiss grabs the map, and heads over to this Translator Office place to check out this mysterious and presumably important Putto person. RE: Mysteries of the Floating Islands - GoldenCityBird - 10-05-2022 At the translator's office, you spot two people dining at the desk. The one facing the door is downright skeletal, with sharp angles along all of his green-scaled edges (alongside, shockingly, bearing wings). The other, facing away, is more rounded, to say the least, with well-polished brown-ish horns atop his red scales. They seem to be deep in conversation. "...because apparently Commonising every single one of tose Risami heiroglyphs is someting we haven't done yet," says the thinner one. "I mean, we had relations pre-island, right?" The larger one nods. "Indeed. And, by the way-" "Hang on one sec, Rob." The thinner one stands up. "Putto's office. Word travels quite quickly, you two, uh... Wallace and Gromit? No, wait, those were te oters... Avanyiss and Magnoos. Come in. I've been expecting te likes of you." RE: Mysteries of the Floating Islands - Florien - 10-05-2022 Avanyiss waves, despite being in the same room as her conversation targets and them being aware of her presence. Yes! Hello! You've heard of me, I'll skip the introduction. A few questions. First, Translator, what do you even translate? It seems like everyone here speaks the same language. And why do people talk like your position has enormous influence roughly on par with the main leadership? Second, Robert Brass-Horn, some questions about vault one-one-eight and your withdrawal ledger which isn't where it's supposed to be. RE: Mysteries of the Floating Islands - SmilyCube112 - 10-06-2022 Magnus actually quietly chuckles at the Wallace and Gromit comment, before going back to a neutral look on his face. RE: Mysteries of the Floating Islands - Florien - 10-06-2022 ...Isn't a gromit a metal loop you tie a string through? No idea what a wallace is. Is this one of those comedy duos that you have out here? |
