There's a blood trail that leads out of the hut. It stops near the ocean, though. It does turn left before stopping, though.

Browsing around for sharp objects, you do find one that could have very well caused the wound: the Masamune that belongs to Sephiroth.

The trail just spread up to the first three cabins before it cuts into the water.

I really think this whole "murder" situation just proves my point, as does the rhetoric by both of your factionistas on this island. Either way, I can't really say who did it just yet, but rest assured I'll help a bit more later once I've had time to process that which we've found. What I'm trying to get at is maybe we should hang Dawn. She seems like a dick, if you'll pardon the expression. Or even if you won't, for that matter. There's one of her and more than one of us, after all.
Her attempt to incite violence aside, Desenari does sound a little less than surprised about the murders, though that's probably because it was announced that they would happen.
Oh, and I put flour on the walkways by my cabin last night, so anyone who was outside last night and passed #4 probably has simple dough stuck to their boots. I think. We'll see.
