Don't worry, just leaving the bush is a free action. As for you looking for other clues, however, you decided to take a look at the rope once again. The rope itself is burned and you can tell the ends of it were burned off. And looking at the marking on the tree, it appears that Claudette was tied up to the tree with the rope prior to her incineration.

You manage to clear the stuff out of your eyes and look at the message. It reads "TING-LU WILL DIE NEXT". It appears to have been carved into the tree itself.

Popo comes in to save the day by inhaling all the swarm of wasps. He doesn't get hurt, but now he has grown wings and a stinger. Looks like he discovered a new ability.
