If Melissa notices anything weird going on with Banch she doesn't say anything; she'd figure it was probably just a result of the experimentation.
She then turns to Jessie, smiling a bit... with her lips closed this time because her smile can be a bit unnerving even prior to all the experiment stuff.
"Really sorry this happened to your dad, but we'll at least make sure whoever did it can't hurt anybody else."

...All I found out was that there's rat poison in the cafeteria, so it probably came from there. Vermin they're trying to exterminate in the cafeteria, probably holes in the walls for the mice and rats to get through to it... I knew this place had a horrible cafeteria from the start. Cheap-ass place.
